The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. Best Time To Undertake The Yatra

The Dodham shrines typically open in late April or early May and close around early November. The best time to travel is:

  • βœ” Summer (May-June): This is the time when the snow-covered winter season concludes and the peak period for pilgrim visits starts. The weather remains pleasant during this time, making it the most comfortable and safest time to book your Char Dham travel.
  • βœ” Post Monsoon (September-October): This post-monsoon time is considered the ideal for embarking on the sacred dhams by many devotees due to its moderately cool weather and post-monsoon charm. During this period, the skies remain clear and the post-monsoon freshness and spiritual serenity add new perspective to the yatra.
  • βœ” Avoid Monsoon (July-September): Avoid monsoon months due to landslides and slippery roads. This heavy rainfall makes it unsuitable to complete your yatra. Helicopter services are also suspended due to poor weather.
